Dancing With The Docs Biographies
Bartlett White:
Bart is from the state of Connecticut and has two masters: one in Physician Assistance, and the other in Public Health. Bart is a recent addition to the Mammoth Hospital team but has been coming to the Eastern Sierra to climb, ski and the like for more than ten years.
Dave Schacht:
Dave grew up in Wisconsin, Graduated from Wake Forest University and has been the Head Golf Professional at Sierra Star Golf Club for 13 years. During the Winter he works with Ueli Luthi at the Tamarack Cross Country Ski Center. He loves any time that is spent outside and prefesr to be with his wife Rachel and Dog Herman.
Jamie Halverson:
Born and raised in St. Paul (Roseville), Minnesota, is married for 33 years to Glen, Chief Operating Office at Mammoth Hospital; together they have three adult children, one daughter and two sons. Jamie works full-time as Office Manager at Mammoth Lakes Foundation in charge of Donor Services and front office. Halverson began ballet at the late age of 12 studying the Russian (Vaganova) method, but quit shortly after high school to attend college. When her daughter was 7, she decided to join her daughter’s ballet class with the permission of the ballet master. Together they studied the Cecchetti (Italian) method in ballet class in DuBois, Pennsylvania, and the Royal Academy of Dance (English) style of ballet while taking ballet classes in Phoenix and a varied ballet style in Tucson before "retiring" from dance. Jamie’s favorite dance style is classical ballet - nothing like Disco, but she’s happy to dance Disco-style to raise money for the hospital!
Jennie Walker:
Jennie up in Orange County, skiing in Mammoth. Her parents actually met at the MM Inn in 1978. She did her undergrad at UCLA (BS in Physiological Sciences), Med School at Chicago Medical School and Residency in Bakersfield at Kern Medical Center. Jennie started dancing at 5 yrs old and continued through college, but didn’t have time in med school. She did mostly ballet, but also a lot of jazz, modern and tap. Jennie still gets to take a class every once in a while when she is back home visiting. She met her husband in high school, but didn’t start dating until college. They have 2 boys ages 4 and 7. Jennie loves to cook.
John Teller:
John was born and raised in Mammoth Lakes, CA. When he is not competing in Europe on the Ski Cross World Cup or charging the slopes of Mammoth Mountain, John works as a mechanic in the family business. His hobbies include, hunting, riding motocross, and anything outdoors.
Kim Escudero:
A board-certified pediatrician joined the pediatric staff at Mammoth Hospital in 2003. She completed her pediatric residency at the University of California, Irvine, in 1998. Her hobbies include alpine and cross-country skiing, mountain biking, motocross and martial arts. She has attained the level of first-degree black belt in Tae Kwon Do.
