Cancer Outreach
2008 Cancer Outreach Golf Tournament
Mammoth Hospital will be hosting its fifth annual golf tournament in the fight against cancer on Friday, June 20th at the Sierra Star Golf Course in honor of local cancer survivor Brian Venneman. The proceeds of this benefit tournament will help support the hospital’s cancer outreach program. Generous donations allow Mammoth Hospital to offer financial assistance, support and resources to cancer patients living or working in Mono County. Since Mammoth Hospital does not offer primary oncology care, local residents travel out of the area to receive such care. Through donations, we can financially assist with gas, meals, and lodging needs. You can participate in our annual fundraising golf tournament event each year to help support our local cancer programs. Please contact Greg Bissonette at 924-4128. |

Fourth Annual Cancer Outreach Golf Tournament a Huge Success
On Friday, June 22, 2007, more than 144 players showed up to have fun and to take a swing against cancer; the weather and Sierra Star Golf Course were both in magnificent condition. Net proceeds totaled a little over $20,000 which will assist local cancer patients traveling out of the area to receive cancer care. Local cancer survivor, Brian Venneman, celebrated his victory over cancer by hosting Mammoth Hospital’s fourth annual event. Brian was a recipient of these funds four years ago and wanted to show his appreciation to Mammoth Hospital in addition to show his support to local cancer patients.

Third Annual Golf Benefit a Success - 2006
What a fantastic day for golf. The weather was perfect, the course was in pristine condition, the players were ready to play, and it was all for a great cause.
Local cancer survivor, Brian Venneman, hosted Mammoth Hospital’ third annual Cancer Outreach Golf Tournament to raise money and awareness for the hospital’s cancer outreach programs. These funds help offset travel expenses for local cancer patients receiving cancer care out of the area. Brian was a recipient of these funds three years ago and wanted to show his appreciation and give back to Mammoth Hospital. This was his third year hosting the tournament in celebration of his victory over cancer.

Net proceeds from this year’s event totaled close to $20,000.
Thank you to Sierra Star Golf Club, Brian Venneman, all the volunteers, the players, and the cancer outreach committee for such a great event. For more information on future tournaments or to make a donation, please contact Lori Ciccarelli at (760) 924-4015.

Second Annual Golf Benefit A Huge Success - June 24, 2005
We couldn’t have asked for a better day... the weather was fabulous, the golf course was beautiful, and everyone was excited to play. It was opening day for Sierra Star Golf Club in Mammoth Lakes with 149 participants in support of Mammoth Hospital Cancer Outreach Program on June 24, 2005. |
We would like to thank Brian Venneman, local cancer survivor, for leading us into another successful benefit raising proceeds of $19,000. This money will assist Mono and Inyo County cancer patients that travel out of the area to receive cancer care; it will help offset their traveling costs for meals, gasoline, and lodging needs. Financial assistance to local cancer patients have totaled $31,000 from this fund since last year’s golf tournament.
Congratulations to Scott Daniels, JetBlue Champion. Scott was closest to the pin for the $1 million hole-in-one shoot-out and won two roundtrip airline tickets from JetBlue Airways.
The Healthcare Trust of Mammoth Lakes would like to thank Sierra Star Golf Club, host Brian Venneman, the golf participants, the many volunteers, the hole sponsors, the raffle gift donators, JetBlue Airways, event sponsor OnFile, and the Mammoth Hospital Cancer Outreach Committee for another successful cancer golf benefit. For more information or to make a donation, contact community relations director Lori Ciccarelli at 924-4015.

Family, friends and local residents
gathered in support for local cancer survivor Brian Venneman at Mammoth Hospital
Foundation’s first cancer benefit tournament on June 25th. The
tournament was in celebration of one year cancer free for Brian; money raised
will support the hospital’s Cancer Outreach Program that offers financial
assistance, support, and resources to cancer patients living in Mono and Inyo
Counties. Brian was a recipient of funds from the outreach program and this was
his way of giving back to Mammoth Hospital. Over the past year, we have donated
$6,600 to assist local cancer patients.
Thanks to Snowcreek golf course, the Town’s Department of Tourism and
Recreation, Grumpy’s, all players, sponsors,
|
volunteers, and in-kind donators for their generosity making this year’s event a huge success. We raised over
$12,000.
Plan on attending the 3rd annual golf benefit tournament on 6/23/06 at Sierra Star Golf Course. More Information
