Volunteer at Mammoth Hospital
There are several volunteer opportunities at Mammoth Hospital.  If you are interested in participating in these programs, please contact the volunteer department at (760) 924-4200 or click on the links below for an application for the program of your choice.

Junior Volunteer Program
This program was developed to help involve local high school students in our community and to help develop job skills.  The volunteer must be 14 years old and can earn high school credits through this program.  They can provide volunteer services in various departments throughout the hospital and the Sierra Park Clinics.

Shadowing Program
The Shadowing Program is strictly an observation program; it is not a program providing volunteer community service to the hospital.  This program has been developed for those interested in the health care field.  This is a great opportunity for those trying to define career and educational goals.  Shadowing Application

Hospital Service Volunteer Program
This program was developed to encourage local and seasonal residents to get involved in the community and to provide them with opportunities to develop skills for entering into the medical field. The volunteer will assist the medical and business staff of Mammoth Hospital in providing services to patients and visitors.Volunteer Application

Reach out and Read
Reach Out and Read (ROR) is a national program that seeks to make early literacy an integral part of pediatric primary care.  As part of the ROR program, hospital volunteers read to the pediatric patients in the Sierra Park Pediatric clinic. This program was developed to assure and comfort children while waiting to be seen.  It is very rewarding being a part of this volunteer program. Reach Out and Read Application

Auxiliary Hospital Services
Become a member of the Auxiliary.  The hospital receives extraordinary support from this program.  Not only does the Auxiliary support the hospital with funds, most of which are earned from the local thrift store, the Cast Off, but they also commit to hundreds of hours annually in hospital service. If you are interested in becoming a member, please contact the Auxiliary at (760)934-4303.  Auxiliary Newsletter

We also organize several events over the year where volunteers are needed
to assist.

Paws-4-Healing Pet Partner Volunteers
Paws-4-Healing Pet Partner volunteers and their animals are thoroughly trained and evaluated to provide "Animal Assisted Activities" to the patients, family members, and staff at Mammoth Hospital and Sierra Park Clinics. Animal Assisted Activities provide opportunities for social and emotional benefits to enhance the quality of the patient's experience at Mammoth Hospital. The handler and animal are certified as Pet Partner teams through Paws-4-Healing, an affiliate group of Delta Society. For more information, visit www.paws4healing.info.
