Nutritional Services

Good nutrition is an important component of maintaining a healthy lifestyle. In order to help you understand the components of a healthy diet, Mammoth Hospital has a full-time Registered Dietitian to provide a number of inpatient and outpatient services. The following is a summary of nutrition services available at Mammoth Hospital.

Inpatient: We are eager to satisfy your dietary needs during your hospitalization. The cooks are trained to prepare medically directed diets and all meals are prepared with focus on quality, taste and good nutrition. If you feel you need to make special arrangements for your pending hospitalization, please contact the Dietitian at the number below. We will try to accommodate all reasonable requests.

Outpatient: Diet can play a crucial role in managing many medical problems. For certain conditions, following the proper diet can help decrease your dependency on medications, reduce the need for hospitalizations and/or decrease the risk for developing complications. The following is a short list of conditions in which dietary management is important.


  • High Cholesterol
  • Diabetes
  • Diverticulosis
  • Kidney Disease

  • Hypertension
  • AIDS
  • Anemia
  • High Triglycerides
  • The Dietitian is available at Mammoth Hospital to provide one-on-one counseling
    on medically appropriate diets. Talk to your doctor to find out if a special diet can help you manage you health conditions. You doctor’s office can arrange an appointment with the Dietitian if this is right for you.

    Weight Management: Maintaining a healthy weight is crucial to minimize your risk of developing a number of chronic diseases. In order to help minimize your health risk Mammoth Hospital has created a weight management program designed to teach life-long healthy exercise and eating behaviors. Participants work with an Exercise Physiologist and Registered Dietitian for a safe, healthy weight loss.
