Birthing Center
Mammoth
Hospital opened the Birthing Center doors in 1999 averaging 150 deliveries each year. With the 38,000-square-foot expansion in 2007, this allowed for a new three-bed labor and delivery perinatal unit (three LDRPs - one room with a spa tub). This area is a locked private area for baby safety with full-time anesthesia and a nurse midwife that works under the OB/GYN in addition to the pediatricians attending all caesarian sections and high risk births. All of the OB nurses have 2-30+ years experience which includes NRP, STABLE and Fetal Monitoring; some having certification/experience with ACLS, PALS, and Level I/II Nursery experience. |
